Tattoo

Hey guys, I'm feeling kind of macabre-ish today. Don't really want to talk about it though.

Anyways, don't you think that this illustration would be a pretty rocking tattoo? I can just imagine it on somebody's arm/back/thigh. But of course you need someone really freaking amazing with mad skills to do it. Just like the people from Miami Ink. Gods I love that show.

Babies are Scary!

My cousin came to visit me and my mom today with her little baby boy Farhan. I posted about him previously here.

He is about six months old now and is adorable! I am still coughing so I didnt want to carry him, just as a precaution but boy he insisted. He kept looking at me, staring. His eyes kept trailing me and at the end the mom was like, 'Farah, just carry him already'. And I did, the little bugger was so happy that he finally got his way!

But seriously though, I think my cousin quite affectively scared the bejesus out of me with her pregnancy and delivery story! She was given epidurals and yet she was in a lot of pain. The baby started crowning and the nurses told her not to push and physically had to hold her knees together. Basically just a whole lot of pain was involved. And this was her fifth baby!

Don't people say that after the first one, the next few babies just pop out easier? But her case was totally different. And now that he is six months old, Farhan is extremely vocal. He wants attention all the time. Someone to hold him, play with him, talk to him and carry him around. She was telling my mom that she handled all the other babies well, but with this one, she gets really tired by the end of the day.

All this adds up to me being scared! And knowing me, my kid is probably going to end up being like the baby in the above picture-trying to eat his kitten! Gahh~

A Treat

Hello hello everyone! as you can sense from the overly enthusiastic greeting I am feeling much better! Not 100% cured but definitely much better than on Saturday.

So guys, guess what, I deleted about 20 people off my Facebook list! I am so proud of myself. It's a good start don't you think?

And also I linked many more people to my lil bloggy plus I included my email address somewhere at the right. If you just want to chat or anything, drop me line. It's all cool! ;)

Melting

Arrrrghhh....I'm sick! and its terrible! My throat is sore, my chest hurts, my ears are ringing and my head is pounding! I want boypren and I want cuddles! It's been three days already and I'm still sick!

I had to follow my mom to a wedding reception today. And I was looking really terribly ugly. I'm not purposely typing this out so that you guys can pacify me in your comments telling me how pretty I am. No. I was looking really bad. Like a monkey's uncle. Yes, I repeat a monkey's uncle!

My skin was all sallow and pale. My hair was extremely frizzy and humongous. My eyes were watering. I don't sweat much, but man was I melting today. No amount of make up was hiding the fact that I was one sick puppy. So all this = unhappy Farah.

It was the equivalent of being in a sauna. And I couldn't even be whiny about it cause my throat was hurting. As soon as I came home I took a nice cold shower and now I'm off to bed.

p/s: the picture has got nothing to do with the post but I just thought that it was terribly cute! and now, I can has a nap-time!

Honest Scrap

I've been awarded my third award! woot woot! By none other than my fav blogger buddy Garf

and am so honored to receive this award because it was for those bloggers who 'keep it real'. I dont know how real I am keeping it here and if I even deserve this award, but I am still very very grateful that Garf awarded it to me!

So according to the rules, I need to divulge ten things about myself that most people dont know and award this to 10 fellow bloggers. I'll try my best to fulfill both requirements.

1. I occasionally forget to check my Facebook and Twitter accounts but I never ever forget to check my mail (which reminds me I need to check my mail!)
2. I am contemplating on deleting a whole bunch of people of my Facebook account. How weird will it be that instead of increasing, the number of my friends are actually decreasing?
3. I hated the colour pink while growing up. I preferred black. I still do like black a lot but with an addition of white, red, green and purple.
4. Most of my clothes are either black or white or both. I have to physically and mentally stop myself from buying clothes with those colours. And I am still not close to getting there.
5. I wear flip flops anywhere it is acceptable. Anywhere.
6. Before I started studying in Uni I loved Shakespeare. After I completed my Bachelor's degree majoring in English Literature, Shakespeare can eat my cotton shorts!
7. I love food but I am also incredibly picky at the same time. If I like a particular dish I can eat it all the time, everyday, 24/7.
8. I have sudden inexplicable cravings for mash potatoes.
9. When I was four/five I fell down from a towel hanger (I was standing on it, not so smart - I know) and broke my nose. All I can remember is the floor coming towards me and then blank. It's still not fixed yet.
10. I have massively, massively frizzy hair that I swear to god has a mind of it's own! I kid you not.

He's Just NOT That Into You

So I finally, finally, finally watched this movie! Yeah, I know I am extremely slow but seriously I haven't even watched Transformers2 yet.

Every girl who wasn't in a relationship at that time, snapped up the book and gobbled up the contents with the realization that the guy we have had a major crush on (who knew it and still continued to do nothing) was just not that into us and we should stop wasting our time pining over him.

It was good, it was empowering.

The movie, not so much.

The only characters that I loved was Gigi played by Ginnifer Goodwin and Alex played by Justin Long. Gigi was the stereotypical girl who cyber stalks, freaks out if the guy doesn't call her and is just desperate to find love. And I loved it! She in some ways reminds me of myself and certain girlfriends of mine. She is cute, pretty and also unbelievably awkward. And Alex is the 'Man Who Knows It All'. He knows why the guys don't call you, and if they call you why they don't wana sleep with you and if they do sleep with you why they don't wana marry you; because he's just not that into you! Love that!

I read a review by a fellow blogger whose name escapes me and she said she doesn't get the point of the movie. Her example; Beth (Jennifer Anniston) and Neil (Ben Affleck). Neil doesn't believe in getting married and Beth, after seven years of being in a relationship with him wants to get married. During the course of the movie they split up and reconcile without a promise of marriage from Neil. But while moving back into their house, Neil pops the question and we (the audience) assume that they marry and live happily ever after.

What that particular blogger was saying that she doesn't see the point of it as Beth gets what she wants from Neil. The whole point of the book was that if the man loves the woman enough, no matter what ideals he has he will do anything to make her happy. Even if it is getting married while he clearly doesn't believe in the institution. That was the whole point.

Okay I've been really dying to say this, but don't you think that Scarlett Johanssen looked fat in the movie? And she kept wearing those tight jeans belted at the waist, so so unflattering! Drew Barrymore looked really mousey but I suppose that was her character so it was okay.

Anyways it was a good movie, a great time filler but if you really want hardcore advice its definitely back to the book!

The Last Airbender

Ohmygod!ohmygod!ohmygod!ohmygod!

They are making a movie out of Avatar: The legend of Aang!!!! Okay, so for those of you who don't know, Avatar is a cartoon (yes, I know I am 23) on Nickelodeon and I love watching it. It's about those ancient times when the four elements; fire, water, earth and air, were alive and could be manipulated by humans.

The person who was gifted with the ability to manipulate all four elements is called an 'Avatar'. This Avatar will be responsible to maintain the peace and quiet within all nations. Which is where the story starts, when the last Avatar vanishes and a few hundred years later a new Avatar was found frozen in a ball of ice. He was an airbender and his tribe of people were driven to extinction when a war broke out. So he really was the last airbender, and his name is Aang. I am seriously not doing the story any justice with my haphazard synopsis because I am that excited!! Click here if you want to know more.

Last night before sleeping I was on the Apple site and watching all the new trailers and came across this, I almost peed in my pants! I was that bloody excited! So M. Night Shyamalan is directing it so I know that all the effects will be mouth watering and the cast should be talented looking at his resume. I am more excited to watch this than to watch Harry Potter and Twilight combined! Yes, I am that big of a dork!

The only thing that I am unhappy about is the casting of Dev Patel (Slumdog Millionaire dude) as Prince Zuko, who happens to be one of the movers and shakers of the story. The man, sorry boy, does not fit the role and I don't like nor approve of it. I was incredibly pissed when I saw the stills of the movie and he was in it which basically means that it is confirmed without a doubt that he will be playing Zuko. And seriously, Slumdong Millionaire was good but not because of Dev Patel and that I believe. Sorry all you Dev Patel fans out there.

A Note

Hey guys,

Just a sweet and short note for everyone cause my internet has been acting up since yesterday and I cant even get a strong enough connection to post something up.

Firstly, the little boy in the pictures is my nephew Danny. He is my eldest brothers son and he comes to stay with us for holidays sometimes. He is incredibly mischievous and at four years old his favourite phrase is 'Oh man!'. So cute! I love him to bits!

Next, for every post that is tagged under creativity they are usually my words or images unless stated otherwise. I know some have been asking and I thought that I should just address that in this note. The 'creativity' tag is usually how I nurse my feelings.

Lastly, thank you so so so so much to Garf of 'A Garf Secret' who just recently gave me my second blog award! Thank you buddy!! I really do appreciate it. I never thought that I would receive any awards whatsoever when I started writing here.

Waterfall

On Sunday morning Mom and I took Danny to the Waterfall Gardens (Penang, Malaysia) to show him some monkeys! I didn't get to take any snaps of the monkeys but I did take lots of nature ones.

Suffice to say that by the end of the excursion Danny was one tired, thirsty,sleepy and happy lil' boy. It was fun going around taking pictures with my mom laughing at me thinking me silly. Now, I really can't wait to get my hands on a DSLR camera.

My Idea of Heaven

I am an out and out shoe person, granted I don't have many pairs yet but it's a growing obsession, slowly but surely. And one of these days I will get my hands on a pair of Louboutin.

Almond Oil?

I have extremely thick, coarse and wavy hair that frizzes uncontrollably no matter how the weather is outside. I was talking to my mom and asking her what can I do to make my hair grow beautifully, you know, the way you see in those hair adverts. Those adverts that make you say, sure I can have hair like that if I were to have salon treatments right before the shoot.

Unfortunately I can't do anything other than chemically straightening my hair again to achieve soft and frizz-free hair but I've done that too many times over the years that I am actually thinking of giving that a break. Hence my mom suggested almond oil.

So I checked out a couple of websites that stated that almond oil is good for the hair and supposedly will nourish and smoothen out the hair cuticles. Added bonus will be that is also, supposedly, controls hair fall.

And now, on to my search of almond oil. Will keep you lot update on the results of it.

I wanted to update the blog considering I can't seem to go back to sleep and my cat had to throw up on my sheets. I kinda think she has something against this particular set as every time I have them on and she sleeps with me in the room, she throws up on them. By the way, have I mentioned that I HATE furballs? gehhhh~

I wanted to blog about something else but maybe later or something.

Well, I guess the title says it all. It's July 1, 2009 and a whole bunch of thoughts are doing cartwheels in my mind. So many things I would love to do, places I am dying to visit, people that I am missing like crazy. I really wish I could stop thinking and submerge myself in water, eat watermelons and dance in the rain like a lunatic. Wouldn't that be a life worth living ey?
