Astro Blogger Masterchef

Okay, seriously I am really in love with the whole MasterChef phenomenon. MasterChef is a worldwide phenomenon. A cooking reality show, that although doesn’t allow viewers to vote, has still broken viewership records in US and Australia. MasterChef is a success because not only is Food something we are all very passionate about but the show only allows amateur cooks to compete. Malaysians who love cooking but never had a chance to really showcase their skills and be appreciated, now get the opportunity! Get ready for the MasterChef phenomenon to take over Malaysia on 22nd October 2011!

I have just started cooking and I find that I love being there. The dish that gets repeat demands are my breakfast muffins. It's not really a muffin per say, the base is made out of regular bread, then there is a layer if meat (chicken/beef), then some cheddar cheese and then eggs. It is then popped into the oven at 200 degrees Celcius for 10 mins and its done!

The finish product looks like this. It is seasoned with salt and pepper. You can eat it just like that or with ketchup. It looks like a teeny tiny thing but oh God it is so damn filling.

So there it is; my signature dish! Blogger Masterchef, here I come!! XD

Those Days

Today was one of those days. Where everything didn't turn out right. I was late to work because I left my phone at home, even after double checking everything. Made a bunch of stupid and careless mistakes at work which I got called out for. Came home, started cooking. Frying, actually. And I 'fried' bits of my hands, arms and also my left cheek. Yeap, you got it right; the hot oil bubbled, popped and got right to my face. At that time the husband was still praying so I manned up and soldiered through.

Then, I was making some salsa for chips and when I was trying to attach the blender to the body, I somehow managed to open everything up. Tomato puree was oozing out of the bottom like I opened up a huge gash. And that was when I lost it. I just basically started crying, crying and crying. It was so frustrating when you try so hard and nothing seems to turn out right.

Today I really felt like a failure. Nothing turned out the way I wanted it to. Sometimes I really feel like I am flailing. I am out of my depth and I really feel clueless almost all the time. My thoughts are all jumbled up and I have nothing else to say.

Any advice; other than 'breathe and carry on'?

Weekend, Food and Kids

My weekend started on Friday (which was a public holiday here in Malaysia) by attending a Maybelline event. Saw a few make up tutorials but I was really impressed with the level of skills the other attendees showed. Some of them did some amazing makeup on the spot! Oh, and I got lip balm as freebies, love!

Saturday and Sunday was filled with food, food and more food. On Saturday I made lamb briyani at the in-laws for the family and it was a big hit. *thank God* Even the kids loved it. So that's equivalent as hitting it out of the park for me! wootwoot! Sunday was a bit chilled out; managed to talk to soulsista for a bit and then went out for more food. :) Anyways, this is an extremely picture heavy post as we have finally bought our digital camera and are loving it! It's our new baby!;)

Outfits

I had to work an event today and I basically fell in love with a few outfits. So random of me to be suddenly posting outfits, but I really liked them and I did ask them nicely for a photo (I swear I wasn't overzealous and rabid-fan-like! XD).

Weeeee, four people and four different looks (duhhh *eyeroll aimed at myself*) and I loved each one of them. Sorry for the really crappy photo quality, am still functioning with just my camera phone *sigh*. The tiny details were actually the things that caught my eye but unfortunately it's not really visible.

Gah...maybe I shouldn't even be posting this..??!!

Lightweight

I know, I know; I just got married and I really shouldn't be thinking about any bridal outfits (this reminds me that I am totally behind on the sharing of the wedding photos! Busted!), but..but..but..just look at all these pieces, aren't they just beeee-yuuuu-tiiii-fuuuuul? Granted, I wouldn't wear it as a bride (way too light in embroidery for me), but I sure as hell wouldn't mind wearing it at someone else's wedding! ;)
